PICKING A NAMED RUNNER – The Events Tree

2Market 1MarketThe events tree is where you find and add selections into Bet Minder. It contains all of the markets that are available on Betfair.

Double click on an event or click the + symbol to expand the tree view to see the ‘child’ events and/or markets of that event. Child events of Horse Racing are UK, IRE, USA etc.

Markets have runners like 13:20 Ling for example. Keep going until you see a list of selections. Clicking on a runner (such as ‘Night Singer’) will enter that selection into the ‘Add Selection’ Button

AddSelection

You may also select runners that ‘must be’ and runners that ‘must not be’ running.

You may, instead of choosing a named selection’ have Bet Minder pick one or more selections based on the favouritism or biggest mover (steamer / drifter).

PICKING A FAVOURITE / FAVOURITES

As well as adding a selection by name in to the bot you can also instruct the bot to pick you the favourite by ranks and, if required, what runners they should be.

FavOrder In the ‘Fav Order’ node you will find numbers 1 to the number of horses running that race. This allows you to select the favourite, second favourite etc. instead of a named runner. The favouritism of the runners will be determined by the current prices on Betfair. You can select more than 1 favouritism (1,3 and 5 for example). As you add selection favouritisms they will be added the to ‘Add Selections’ button. When you are ready click the button and the bet lines will appear in the ‘My Selections’ grid on the main bot window.

135fav

You may also choose runners (in the ‘Must Be’ list under the last number), that the selection must be, to one or more named runners. EG: You may want to back the favourite as long as it is Boundless Spirit or Hi Ho Ron.

You may also highlight runners that your chosen favouritisms must not be from the ‘Must Not Be’ list.

Fav Rank

This option allows you to add more than one favouritism per bet line. Instead of entering just the fav for an event you can add, for example, the 1st to 3rd fav in the race.

2FavRange

Click ‘FAV RANGE’ in the card you want, then the fav range setting will show under the card list

3FavRange

Select the fav ‘range’ you want (here 1 to 2), you can then add favs 1 and 2 in one go

Then click the ‘Add’ Button to enter the selection(s)

The favourite can be selected from various source of odds (not just the Betfair fav):

FavsSource

If you select more than one then the horse must be your selected favouritism from all sources.

You can join the favouritisms, so if the odds on the forecast are 3/1, 3/1, 5/1, 6/1, 6/1, 15/1 the the ranks will be 1, 1, 3, 4, 4, 6. Here if you have chosen 2nd fav then there will not be one so there will be no bet. If you had chosen the forth fav there would be 2 bets. If you never want more than 1 bet from joining favourites then tick Exclude Joints.

Please note Live Show and Forecast are for UK and Irish horse racing only and BSP prices will be near BSP figures when not in play and actual if in play.

PICKING A STEAMER OR DRIFTER

You can also tell the bot to pick the biggest steamers and/or drifters that fit any of your movers rules.

Your movement rules are set with the movement manager (please see movers manager to set up steaming and drifting rules)

As you add sets of movement rules you will see the profile names in a list under ‘Movers’ under each set of runners. If you click a profile name (here we just have 1 that we names ‘Big-Movers’) the bot will pick the selections that fit your set of rules (such as pick the biggest or 2 biggest drifters)

Must Be (or Not Be) Running

MustBeRunning

Before Adding the runner you may click (to highlight) horses in the ‘Must Be Running’ list that you can expand under the list of runners for that race. This will add these runners that must be running the race for that bet to qualify. You may wish to select to lay a horse but only if certain other horses are running. If they are withdrawn from the race then that selection will not be ordered by the bot.

You can also chose horses that must not be running in the race from the ‘Must Not Be Running’ list.

For both ‘Must Be Running’ and ‘Must Not Be Running’ there are 2 lists, one for (ALL) and one for (ANY).

  • If you select a list of runners in the ‘Must Not Be Running (ANY)’ list then the selection you add will be placed if ANY of the named runners in the list becomes a non runner.
  • If you select a list of runners in the ‘Must Not Be Running (ALL)’ list then the selection you add will be placed if ALL of the named runners in the list become a non runner.
  • If you select a list of runners in the ‘Must Be Running (ANY)’ list then the selection you add will be placed if ANY of the named runners in the list are still in the running when the bets are ordered.
  • If you select a list of runners in the ‘Must Be Running (ALL)’ list then the selection you add will be placed if ALL of the named runners in the list are still in the running when the bets are ordered.

If you select runners from more than one list then each list must be true for the selection to be valid.

Let say you have horse A and horse B as straight forward bets but you want a reserve. You could add horse C and choose ‘Must Not Be Running (ANY)’ with horse A and B highlighted. This way horse C will only be bet on if A or B are not running. You could also highlight horse A and B in ‘Must Be Running (ANY)’, then horse C will only be bet if one of A and B are not running and one of A and B are running so you will only ever get 2 bets as horse C will not be ordered if both A and B are withdrawn.

Naming your bets

You may name your bets

NameBets3_thumb

Type a name into the box (or if previously used select from the drop down arrow as all your names will be saved as you use them)

With groups of bets ‘named’ you can track your different ‘systems’ profits and losses easily without mixing up your selection systems.

Quick Picks

Tools

These options let you enter in many sections at the same time. You can choose All Runners or a selected fav, 2nd fav etc. from the UK, IRE/IRL, AUS or USA race cards. Please note that if Irish races do NOT have (IRL) or (IRE) in the Betfair race card they will be deemed to be UK races by the software as there is no way for it to know otherwise.

You can select Horse or All Dogs or Dogs Bags for the quick picks.

Import

Import

Bet Minder lets you import selections from a csv or excel spread sheet and will allow the majority of settings to be imported selection by selection (if required). If settings are not provided or available from the import then the settings in the main ‘add selections’ window will be used. The minimum you need to supply is the name of the horse and the date and time it is running. You can select any Event with Markets to use to get runners from your imported selections such as Horse Racing Today’s Card (which is the default)
